Renfrew County or Ottawa Valley

Although this is sometimes debated, Renfrew County and The Ottawa Valley are one and the same, with the exception of a few outlying areas. When you pass the Renfrew County signs on major roads, you are in the Ottawa Valley. The Ottawa Valley stretches from Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, westward to the wilderness of Ontario’s world-renowned Algonquin Park in the west. More than half the Valley is wilderness: 2.4 million hectares (6 million acres) of pristine waterways, rolling woodlands and dramatic landforms. We travelled around this area, enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Church
St. John's Lutheran Church, Germanicus. We were made very welcome and enjoyed sharing fellowship over brunch at a local diner after the service.
Eganville
Eganville looking north across the river between the upper- and walking- bridges. As the picture suggests it is a small hard working community with little to detain tourists except the frendliness of it's residents.
Eganville mural
Next to the upper bridge the large and very imposing Eganville Millennium Mural depicts a rich history of Logging, lumbering, farming and the central role of Eganville's two founding faiths.
Red roofs and trees
A stop at the road side and the red roofs of the buildings blend with the colours of the leaves.
Lakeside
Another roadside stop, another photo opportunity. The lake out-flows far left of picture ...
Riverside
... into this river. Even the smallest store had a good supply of hunting, shooting and fishing tackle.
